1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 are where it's at.

The 8 bit remakes are pretty good, all things considered, and even then, the games are legitimately playable.

It damages the ability to enjoy the game. Story doesn't affect gameplay but most RPGs with a bad story are unplayable because of how boring they are.
